As an Agile Lead Coach, you’ll be at the heart of shaping how the organisation works, driving a transformation that aligns delivery with the Bank’s strategic objectives and Tech Blueprint. You’ll guide multiple delivery teams through their Agile journey. Mentoring, coaching, and embedding practices that unlock value, increase efficiency, and ensure technology decisions deliver measurable outcomes. Acting as both strategist and practitioner, you’ll champion frameworks, tools, and processes that enable scalable, sustainable agility while building governance structures that support continuous delivery at enterprise level.

This is a leadership role with real impact: you’ll design and deliver training programmes, launch a “train the trainer” model to grow in-house capability, and co-lead the Agile community within the Bank while representing it among international peers. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to solve complex delivery challenges, modernise ways of working, and embed a culture of reflection and innovation. Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of the Agile way of working, ensuring alignment with the Tech Blueprint as defined by the IT Leadership. This includes contributing to the strategy for ways of working that support the organisation’s strategic objectives and ensuring the execution of governance structures.
• Serve as an Agile Lead Coach for a number of delivery teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to foster Agile practices across the teams. 
• Play a critical role in aligning Ways of Working with technology decisions made by the IT Leadership Team, providing data-driven insights into delivery models, and ensuring that strategic goals are being met through effective Agile practices.
• Support the design and implementation of Agile tools, processes, and frameworks, ensuring they align with the overall delivery model. 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, capability teams, and key partner resources to innovate and implement Agile ways of working. Co-Leads the Agile community within EBRD IT, engaging with peers from other International Financial Institutions (IFI) and Agile enthusiasts. Act as a thought leader and champion of Agile practices both within EBRD and across the wider Agile community.
• Lead the development and delivery of Agile training programs for IT staff. Establish a "train the trainer" program to build in-house capability and sustain Agile training across new joiners.
• Act as the go-to person for resolving complex Agile-related challenges, providing expert advice and direction to teams and leadership.
•Champion the continuous improvement of Agile frameworks and delivery models across teams. Actively promote a culture of reflection and innovation to enhance Agile practices, ensuring teams continuously evolve and improve their delivery processes.
• Support the implementation of new features, upgrades, and enhancements to delivery and backlog management tools, working with stakeholders to ensure that these tools support the Agile way of working effectively. Act as the subject matter expert for tool adoption, integration, and optimisation.

 

Knowledge and Education:

 

• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean, with proven experience supporting Agile transformations and programs within the IT and business landscapes. Extensive experience implementing Agile ways of working across departments, regions, and cultures.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships and engage senior stakeholders. Skilled at influencing and guiding leadership teams, product owners, and delivery teams through Agile adoption and operationalisation.
• Some experience as a Product Owner in Agile tools like Jira, Azure, ServiceNow, and Cognos, with experience in how they optimise delivery models. Expertise in leading and mentoring teams in Agile, fostering a culture of self-organisation, and driving continuous improvement.
• Awareness of large-scale Agile ways of working programs from initiation to embedding outcomes. Skilled at designing and delivering outcomes in collaboration with department heads, architects, and consultants.
• Experience in building trust and engagement with senior-level stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business and technology teams. Proficient in designing and delivering Agile training, including a "train-the-trainer" approach to build sustainable knowledge across teams. Capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences and ensuring practical, actionable learning.
• Extensive experience leading and coaching Agile transformations in IT environments, Experience working in international settings, managing cross-functional teams and delivering Agile outcomes across borders and cultures. Skilled at driving alignment between departments, business units, and IT teams.
• Strong background in leading complex Agile programs, from initiation and outcome design to embedding the changes. Experience working with senior stakeholders, department heads, and consultants to shape and deliver successful results.
• A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in driving Agile transformations and coaching teams within complex environments, particularly in IT and business change.
