Are you an experienced Oracle Database Engineer who enjoys working with complex, mission-critical systems and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of enterprise data platforms?

We’re looking for a hands-on Oracle-focused Database Engineer to design, implement, and support our core Oracle database environments, while also contributing to the gradual evolution toward Microsoft and Azure-based data platforms. This role offers real technical influence, combining deep operational responsibility with forward-looking platform design.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of the reliability, performance, security, and ongoing evolution of our Oracle database platforms, while supporting selected Microsoft and cloud-based services as part of a broader modernisation journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale Oracle database environments

Ensuring high availability, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and resilience for Oracle platforms

Supporting Oracle directory and identity services, including Oracle OID and OVD

Automating Oracle database operations through scripting, tooling, and replication

Working closely with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners to deliver and support Oracle services

Contributing to database architecture and platform design, with a strong focus on security, performance, and scalability

Supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments and associated services (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)

Contributing to data warehousing solutions, including ETL / ELT processes

Supporting and advising on database migration initiatives, particularly transitions from Oracle to Microsoft and Azure-based platforms

Gaining hands-on exposure to cloud database services, including:

Azure SQL Database

Azure Cosmos DB

MongoDB / MongoDB Atlas

What we’re looking for

You’re an Oracle specialist at heart, comfortable owning critical database platforms and working in structured enterprise environments, but you’re also curious about how cloud and modern data architectures are reshaping the database landscape.

You’ll bring:

Strong, hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Oracle databases

Solid understanding of Oracle database performance, resilience, and security

Experience working with managed service providers or delivery partners

Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and related BI tooling (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)

Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL / ELT pipelines

A practical, automation-first mindset

Interest in, or exposure to, cloud database platforms, particularly within Azure

Certifications & knowledge

Intermediate to advanced certification in Oracle, database, or cloud technologies

ITIL Foundation or practical service management experience

Desirable experience

Oracle-to-Microsoft database migration projects

Azure-native database services and public cloud deployments

Modern data warehousing architectures

BI and data consumption platforms

Why join us?

Work with large-scale, mission-critical Oracle environments

Play a key role in shaping the evolution of enterprise data platforms

Balance deep hands-on Oracle work with architecture and platform design

Collaborate with experienced internal teams and external partners

Expand your skills across Oracle, Microsoft, and cloud data technologies

If you’re passionate about Oracle databases and want to help modernise enterprise data platforms without losing technical depth, we’d love to hear from you.
