Purpose of Job
Ready to architect the future of secure, scalable cloud networks? We’re looking for a Cloud Network Engineer who thrives in complex, hybrid and multi-cloud environments. You'll have strong, hands-on expertise in getting Enterprise Networks to interact with dynamic Microsoft Azure networks, delivering a golden path to developers, keeping us safe whilst maintaining velocity. The broad scope of this role will allow you to design and support networks spanning, routing & switching - through internetworking to perimeter services such as WAF, DDoS protection and VPN.
This role is tailor-made for a networking pro with deep technical expertise and the certifications to back it up - think Azure Network Engineer Associate or Cisco CCNP. Whether you’re configuring network security groups, optimizing identity and access flows, or working alongside managed service partners, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering secure cloud connectivity at scale. Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Technology experience in this area includes but is not limited to:
• Microsoft Azure.
• Internet working in hyperscale cloud environments.
• Hybrid and multi-cloud networking including peering.
• Secure segregation of tenants, landing zones, subscriptions, and networks utilising: traditional networking methods, network security group and security appliances.
• Design, Implement & Support of networks which underpin wider non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, availability, & performance.
• Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) – SaaS / on Prem / Azure.
• SSL VPNs.
• Load balancing, including Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB).
• Perimeter Security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/ prevention (IDS/IPS), anti-malware and threat prevention (Microsoft, Check Point, Palo Alto Networks and Cisco).
• DDoS Protection services.
• Cloud identity and access management solutions (in the context of network interactions).
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Designing, Implementing and Supporting cloud network technologies
• Working with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners
• Intermediate to advanced technology certification in the given specialism such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or Cisco CCNP
• Entry level service management certification such a ITIL Foundation.
• The Platform Engineer responsible for cloud networks is in addition, expected to have a foundational knowledge of enterprise networking (routing & switching) and security
