Purpose of Job
The role is part of the FP&A team within the Finance – Strategy, Planning and Control department.
The Principal, Donor Partnership, FP&A will engage in financial management activities to support Donor Funded activities, specifically donor fee funded activities. They will work closely with various departments within the Bank: Donor Partnership, Donor Funds Accounting and other departments engaged in donor funded activities.
The position is responsible for the production and distribution of meaningful financial and headcount reporting and insightful commentary to senior management and other internal stakeholders involved in donor activities. The role provides direct support to the Principal, Reporting and Analysis to implement enhancements to reporting, enabling decision support to senior management and the Board. The role is also responsible for the periodic planning and forecasting activities and contributes to the preparation of specific sections of documents issued to senior management and to the Board such as the Strategy Implementation Plan (SIP).
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Accountabilities and responsibilities for this key role are to be carried out with a degree of independence under management of the Principal, Reporting and Analysis. Under the direction of the Principal, this role takes the lead in developing and implementing specific areas of the team’s work including:
- Lead the production of SIP (annual budgets/ plans), medium term (5-year plans) and forecast presentations and documents for donor-funded activities.
- Working with Donor Partnership to review and approve new priorities for SIP.
- Working with Fund Managers to calculate the disbursement profile to calculate SIP fee received in line with IFRS revenue recognition.
- Working with business to determine baseline expenses and include priorities for new demand to determine new budget as part of the SIP process.
- Lead the development of financial models to support Donor Partnership initiatives.
- Lead the development of a robust forecasting model to reflect the changes to SIP and allowing the business to make informed decisions.
- Be accountable for approval of new positions for both technical cooperation and climate funds.
- Working with HR, Donor Partnership to improve the reporting of positions.
- Oversight of in-year budget transfers in line with agreed principles.
- Lead for management reporting with regards to fees received and expenses incurred.
- Support the ongoing finance transformation agenda, including input into the ERP replacement and migration to a new planning system.
- Act as the subject matter expert for planning, reporting and analysis for Donor funded activities.
- Constantly identifies ways for increasing efficiency and effectiveness namely by automating processes, improving data quality and adopting market best practices, hence freeing up resources for more added value activities such as business partnering and analytics.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant/ CFA qualified/ relevant Masters and/ or strong practical experience in Finance.
- Strong accounting knowledge and financial background.
- Excellent numeric and analytical skills.
- Stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and proposing innovative solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of management information reporting and solid understanding of data governance principles.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems such as accounting packages, Excel and its use in modelling.
- Relationship management skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and under time pressure whilst addressing the departmental priorities.
- Strong drafting and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
