The Associate, Corporate Communications plays an important role in supporting the Associate Director, Head of External Communications in developing and delivering corporate communications activities that enhance the visibility, reputation, and impact of the EBRD, its senior leadership and its strategic priorities.

 

Based in London, the role is responsible for helping to shape and execute communications strategies that support the Bank’s engagement with international media  and key opinion leaders. The Associate works across media, digital and corporate communications channels to ensure the EBRD’s activities, impact and leadership are communicated effectively to audiences in key markets.

 

A particular focus of the role is supporting communications efforts in G7 countries and strengthening the Bank’s relationships with leading international media organisations and journalists across major financial and political centres.

 

Working closely with senior management and colleagues across the Communications Department, the Associate contributes to the planning and delivery of high-profile communications initiatives, major international events and executive visibility programmes.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Supporting the Associate Director, Head of External Communications in developing and delivering corporate communications strategies that advance the Bank’s strategic priorities and reputation.
  • Providing strategic communications counsel to senior internal stakeholders as required.
  • Supporting the visibility and positioning of the EBRD senior leaders through proactive communications and media engagement.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with top-tier international media outlets and journalists, with a particular focus on G7 countries.
  • Supporting communications planning and delivery around high-level official visits involving senior EBRD management, including media relations, digital communications, and event communications.
  • Seeking high-profile media opportunities, including interviews, press briefings, or background briefings.
  • Preparing briefing materials, talking points, Q&As, speeches and media lines for senior leadership.
  • Supporting communications activities around major international events attended by the EBRD and its senior leaders, including the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, UN Climate Conferences (COP), the EBRD Annual Meeting and other high-profile international forums.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of integrated digital communications plans to maximise visibility and engagement around major events, campaigns and leadership activities.
  • Producing multimedia content, including videos, photography, social media assets and visual storytelling products, to support the Bank’s strategic priorities.
  • Drafting and editing a wide range of communications materials, including press releases, media statements, feature stories, newsletters, social media content and website content.
  • Monitoring media, political and stakeholder developments relevant to the Bank and identifying opportunities to strengthen the EBRD’s profile and influence.
  • Contributing to crisis communications preparedness and providing support on issues management as required.
  • Supporting or leading communications portfolios linked to key Bank priorities, including climate and green economy activities, sustainable finance and other strategic sectors.
  • Measuring, analysing and evaluating the effectiveness of the Bank’s external communications, its share of voice, sentiment analysis and message penetration across key markets.
  • Leveraging artificial intelligence and emerging communications technologies to improve communications planning, content creation, media monitoring, stakeholder engagement and campaign performance.

 

The role requires excellent judgement, strong written and verbal communications skills, proven media relations experience, sound political awareness and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, international and stakeholder-intensive environment.
