Purpose of the Job 

To support EBRD Green Cities operations and delivery, with particular attention to private sector opportunities, electric mobility sector, and supply chain issues.

Accoutabilities and Responsibilities 

  • Preparation of Green Cities material – including presentations and briefing notes for internal and external use.
  • Review of on-going GCAPs, with particular focus on where private sector opportunities can be pursued.
  • Sense checks on private sector opportunities based on desktop research and inputs from PPP Advisory Unit (SI3P).
  • Ensure relevant private sector parties (PPP investors/sponsors; PPP consultants), attend Stakeholder Engagement meetings and GC events.
  • Support for electric mobility deals with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Support for upcoming Management Approach on Batteries.

 

Knoweldge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in finance/business/trade, climate finance/urban planning or closely related field.
  • An academic background in international trade
  • Experience in electric mobility financing
  • Experience in sub-Saharan Africa
  • Experience in clean technology supply chains, including engaging with clients, suppliers, environmental & social experts, and bankers
  • Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and to deadlines and under time pressure.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and experience with databases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • French language skills preferred
  • Understanding of the private sector, urban sustainability, energy, environment, and development challenges in the EBRD region.
