The date of appointment of the successful candidate to the Analyst position in EBRD’s office in Cotonou, Benin will be subject to necessary approval to open an office in Benin being obtained. While this process is still under way, EBRD will issue a conditional offer to a successful candidate and will confirm the employment start date as soon as the approval process is completed.
EBRD’s project life cycle involves several stages from origination to signing, followed by implementation and monitoring until full completion and repayment or exit. All the stages involve different tasks such as business marketing, project due diligence analysis, structuring and approval, negotiation and signing of project agreements, disbursement, and monitoring.
The role of the Analyst is to contribute, as a project team member, to the structuring, implementation and monitoring of debt and equity transactions, and their effective implementation and monitoring in line with the Bank’s operational objectives. Under the guidance of the operation leader and/or more senior bankers, the Analyst performs those tasks assigned to them and provides support to the operation leader and the project team throughout the project cycle, with a particular emphasis on research, data gathering, credit analysis and financial modelling.

About the Role
As an Analyst, Banking you’ll support the full project lifecycle—from origination to execution, implementation, and monitoring. You will work closely with senior bankers and project teams to conduct financial analysis, structure transactions, and assess investment risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis, market research, and due diligence on potential investments.
- Develop and update financial models and projections.
- Support transaction structuring, execution, and approval processes.
- Assist with technical cooperation initiatives, including drafting terms of reference.
- Monitor project performance, ensuring compliance with agreements and risk mitigation.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior team members.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
- Professional Qualifications: ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred.
- Skills: Strong financial modeling, credit analysis, and risk assessment capabilities.
- Experience: Background in investment/commercial banking, private equity, asset management, or financial consulting.
- Technical Proficiency: Excel, financial analysis tools, and familiarity with accounting principles.
- Language: Fluency in English and French; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
- Work Ethic: Team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle pressure effectively.
