The Vice Presidency, Policy and Partnerships team is essential to the EBRD’s country and sector strategies. Alongside other EBRD departments, the team implements a range of operational and project-based policy initiatives and leads the coordination, overseeing, prioritisation and monitoring of project preparation and implementation.
As part of the team, you would work in one of a variety of areas, such as the Country Strategy Coordination and Results Management team, whose staff members prepare – and ensure cross-departmental support for – country, sector and thematic strategies and policy products. The team also includes Economics, Policy and Governance staff who contribute to our operational policy and provide insight and guidance on the development of market economies in our region of operations. In addition to these areas, there is also an External Relationships and Partnerships team, covering Civil Society Engagement, Donor Co-Financing, Technical Cooperation and Nuclear Safety.
The Office of the Chief Economist contributes to our operational policy and provides intellectual leadership on the development of market economies in our region. This includes all EBRD recipient countries, from Central Europe to Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the southern and eastern Mediterranean.
As an EBRD economist you would work closely with the Banking team to structure, appraise and monitor investment projects. You would examine the realistic nature of economic projections used in the financial modelling of operations, provide economic forecasts and engage in policy dialogue to foster the right course of sectoral restructuring in each country.
The overall aim for the economics and policy areas is to develop strategy and policy to support transition.
