Purpose of Job

The Principal Risk Officer, Corporate Recovery will act as a senior member of a Corporate Recovery portfolio project team and can also be assigned as Operation Leader. Primarily, she/he is responsible for giving strong support to Associate Directors, Senior Risk Officers leading more complex and contentious Corporate Recovery projects with the aim to maximise the Bank’s recoveries through restructuring of balance sheets, asset sales or other value recovery actions, as appropriate. In addition, the Principal Risk Officer can be accountable for leading and advising on more straightforward projects in Corporate Recovery. The type of projects may involve non-performing debt across any of the sectors for both corporates and financial institutions in EBRD’s countries of operations. Background

Corporate Recovery manages the impaired loans and a legacy equity portfolio assets transferred to the department with the aim to recover best possible value for EBRD. By applying sound market and banking principles, Corporate Recovery takes whatever action is deemed necessary by the Bank to protect its interests in light of its mandate. This may include financial and operational restructurings, achieving an exit on the best available terms, or the enforcement of collateral and of any other of the Bank’s rights, as well as litigation. This role places Corporate Recovery frequently in a sensitive position vis-à-vis its external stakeholders and therefore also contributes to shape EBRD’s perception in the respective markets. Corporate Recovery also gives independent strategic advice to Banking Teams concerning assets which have been transferred on an advisory basis or otherwise upon request. Furthermore, CR plays an important role in providing constructive feedback across the project cycle through dissemination of “lessons learned” to relevant internal stakeholders.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Seeking guidance from the Director, Corporate Recovery, Lead Senior Risk Officers or Senior Risk Officers in relation to the design and implementation of recovery strategies and monitoring of allocated projects
As a team member in complex deals led by Senior Risk Officers, contribute to project implementation, including strategy development, credit and financial analysis, negotiation and communication with borrower/investee companies and other stakeholders
As Operations Leader execute and manage approved recovery strategies, including negotiations with borrowers/investee companies, third party/parallel and/or subordinated lenders, sponsors and other equity providers as required
Ensuring adequate monitoring of internal and external reporting obligations within his/her responsibility as a team member or Operation Leader

Purpose of Job:

The Analyst will take responsibility for the tasks assigned to them by the operation leader, the Regional Head for Energy, the Regional Head for Infrastructure or more senior members of the project team, or more senior bankers, which may include undertaking comprehensive due diligence, including financial, market, integrity and EBRD policy compliance, as well as effective post-signing implementation and monitoring. In addition, tasks may be assigned by the Director, Regional Head Eastern Mediterranean related to sectoral needs.

The Analyst carries out these tasks as part of a project team under the guidance of the operation leader or under the supervision/guidance of the Regional Heads or more senior bankers.

The Analyst role may also include elements of business/pipeline development, client management and policy dialogue. In particular the Analyst will be actively involved in the following tasks:

- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of existing projects in Jordan including the energy and infrastructure public sector portfolio;

- Maintain the relationship with clients and key stakeholders in the sector in Jordan, including the authorities, private operators, and other international organisations;

- Coordinate technical cooperation assignments with the authorities; and

- Contribute to coordinating due diligence visits, financial modelling and drafting or approval documents for new projects.

2. Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation and Reporting

• As requested by the operation leader or a Portfolio Manager, undertake assigned tasks relating to the implementation and monitoring of projects to which the Analyst is assigned as part of the project team, including compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures related to disbursement, monitoring of progress of the project and financial performance of the client, assessing evolving risk factors and monitoring and assessing covenant compliance;

• As requested by the operation leader or more senior member of the project team, prepare timely and comprehensive draft monitoring reports and include recommendations for corrective actions where required and ensure these corrective actions and recommendations are brought to the attention of more senior team members;

• As may be requested by, and under the supervision of, a TC operation leader, assist with the effective implementation and monitoring of TC assignments including communication with TC client, monitoring of TC fund usage, preparation and filing of relevant TC progress and completion reports to support the TC operation leader to meet donor reporting requirements and operational objectives.

Purpose of Job

Purpose of Job

The Associate supports on the delivery of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project preparation in the Eurasia region, known within the EBRD as Infrastructure Eurasia. The PPP projects are prepared to the benefit of the Bank’s public sector clients.

The purpose of the job is to assist the Associate Director or Principal (depending on the Operational Leader (OL) in each project) in managing the advisory mandates for the preparation of PPP projects and support in different PPP-related policies in this region.

The Associate will work in the process of evaluation of proposals presented by public sector clients, approval by the parties, support in the selection of external consultants, monitor the consultants’ work together with the public sector clients benefitting from EBRD’s support and, in general, contribute to the projects’ preparation with PPP knowledge and expertise.

The Associate will directly manage the communications with the consultants working in the preparation of infrastructure projects and ensure compliance with the contractual terms of the mandate and the scope of work agreed with consultants.

In fulfilling these objectives, the Associate will liaise with the EBRD internal and external stakeholders including several public stakeholders as requested by the Line Manager. The Associate will manage workloads to ensure all the PPP projects under preparation are delivered as per plan and with the required quality.

Background

The PPP Advisory Unit provides advisory support to public sector clients in the preparation of infrastructure PPPs from planning stage, conceptualisation, government approvals, support to the grantor during the tender and award of the PPP contract until financial close.

The team is transactions oriented and less focused on policy and capacity building; however, some policy related activities are also needed depending on the project under preparation. Most of the projects are in transport, social infrastructure and utilities sectors, there is also a significant portfolio of social and environmental infrastructure. In the Eurasia region, there are currently several projects in social infrastructure.

The advisory is provided to public sector clients in cost recoverable basis which requires raising funding from donors and seek reimbursement of such funding at closure.

The Sustainable Infrastructure Group (SIG) is responsible for delivering the Bank’s agenda in Sustainable Infrastructure through investments and policy dialogue across EBRD’s region. The group consists of five teams with ca. 220 staff in total in London and resident offices. SIG encompasses power, energy, transport, social and municipal infrastructure sectors, representing a third of the Bank’s annual business activity.

The Associate will be familiar and compliant with the Contribution Agreement between EBRD and the public client as well as the Concept Note, which defines the procedures to assess, approve and undertake new projects for internal approval.

The following will be part of the responsibilities of the successful candidate:

Assist the Line Manager in overseeing the region’s pipeline;
As a team member with the OL, communicate on daily basis with the Public Client on the development of projects under preparation
Prepare concept notes for projects, Terms of Reference for the external consultants and seek approval from the OL;
Lead and coordinate with the EBRD Procurement Department in the selection of consultants, signing of advisory contracts and mobilisation
On a daily basis manage consultants working on the preparation of projects;
Coordinate with the EBRD PPP Advisory Unit for results-oriented outcomes ensuring consistency and meeting conditions under the approvals of the Contribution Agreement.
With support from the EBRD PPP Advisory Unit and under the supervision of the Line Manager, work with public clients on the review and assessment of potential PPP projects that are under preparation separately. This may include review of:
-feasibility studies and PPP structuring documents of a project
-tender documents and agreements of the project
-evaluation reports
-execution version of the project’s agreements
-financing agreements
As requested by the OL provide input into the design and development of projects in coordination with different stakeholders, including the private sector, and potential foreign investors
Develop and process technical co-operation requests including preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation
Monitor implementation and results for all projects that are under the responsibility of the Line Manager and flag potential risks and address the concerns, if any, to the OL as necessary;
Manage, monitor and ensure the deliverable submission schedule in close supervision of the ongoing assignments;
Assist the OL in ensuring that all relevant deliverables, procurements and project documents meet EBRD Environmental and Social policies;
Prepare required reporting to the public client and seek approval from the Line Manager;
As requested by the Line Manager, prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, and presentation materials;
Coordinate visibility of the donors and ensure the projects supported by them are implemented in line with the relevant visibility action plans agreed;
Liaise and coordinate commercial activities including scheduling the internal and external meetings, inbound and outbound visits and other corporate events as necessary;
Prepare and distribute minutes of important meetings;
Overtime, take ownership of projects and eventually be able to act as OL for up to three projects under the supervision of the Associate Director, Head of PPP Advisory.

Proven experience in PPPs including advisory on PPP transactions and a clear understanding of the infrastructure lifecycle. At least three years of recent and meaningful experience on PPPs

Purpose of Job

The Funds Team is responsible for EBRD’s investments in funds. Purpose of the Job

The Assistant Analyst in the Data, Analytics and Strategy (DAS) Team is a key contributor to the team’s deliverables, which focuses on digitising, reconciling and integrating portfolio client data into the Bank’s Data Warehouse (DWH), as well as producing standardized client financial reports for the purposes of risk monitoring, aggregated portfolio analytics and equity fair valuation. We are searching for an experienced and motivated Senior Environmental and Social Advisor to join our Energy team at the Environment and Sustainability Department, based in our London HQ office. You will have extensive ESIA and/or due diligence experience in the energy sector, experience working with IFIs and international E&S standards (eg, IFC, EBRD), understanding of complex E&S issues associated with renewables , conventional, nuclear, geothermal and transmission and distribution. You will also have experience and proven understanding of EU environmental standards such as EIA Directive, EU Habitats Directives, Industrial Emission Directive, CSRD as well as supply chain assessments. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Energy in ESD and will take a leading role on many of the Bank’s most complex and challenging energy projects.

Purpose of Job

Purpose of the Job

The Natural Resources (NR) team originates, structures and executes debt and equity transactions across the Bank’s countries of operations, supporting clients in the natural resources value chain and contributing to the Bank’s strategic priorities through investment, portfolio management and policy dialogue.
