Purpose of Job

The Senior Officer contributes to the smooth running of the team’s business activities by providing administrative assistance to team members involved in all phases of the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, execution, implementation and monitoring. The Senior Officer takes responsibility for tasks assigned to them by more senior members of the project team, interacting with internal and external clients, service providers and stakeholders as needed.

 

Background

The Senior Officer reports to an Associate Director in the respective team of the Bank’s Climate Strategy and Delivery Business Group. The team is an essential component of integrating the Bank’s Green Economy Transition (GET) and Paris Alignment (PA) approach into Banking operations and delivering impact to the wider economy. As such, the teams centre around GET delivery via infrastructure, industry or financial institutions, including Paris Alignment and Climate Corporate Governance at the transaction level, including all aspects of technical cooperation, policy dialogue, and capacity building activities.

 

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and editing of internal documents to be submitted to the Bank’s committees (e.g. ExCom, OpsCom, SP Com, TC Com, BAAC, FOPC, Board)
  • Manage internal/external correspondence/requests including drafting responses for review, forwarding for action within the team and interfacing with other departments to ensure that follow-up action is taken
  • Identify opportunities to improve / update departmental processes and outputs to ensure they are kept up to date and fit for purpose (staff and consultant operations manuals, guidelines and templates).
  • Support donor financing and technical cooperation processes, including funding applications, consultant procurement, and the production of reports and presentation materials for regular progress reporting. (donor reports, steering committees, etc).
  • Contribute to research, data analysis, IT coordination and event management.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree and/or equivalent business experience, recognised secretarial or business qualification, would be useful, but not is essential
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Fluent English, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of another language from the EBRD region, both written and spoken, would be useful.
  • Good level of numeracy, with strong organisational, administrative and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge and experience with Tableau and/or Office 365 applications would be an advantage.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and to prioritise and schedule tasks / workload in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Attention to detail and eye for accuracy.
