Purpose of Job

 

The Principal, Squad Lead is responsible for the delivery of IT people, process, workplace applications and integrated technologies, which own & drive innovation and deliver a modern workplace.

The role requires the post holder to co-ordinate teams across EBRD staff and partners to enable & optimise business value.

 

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

 

The EBRD IT department is realigning teams to operate in a more Agile, self organising, cross-functional manner. To this end, a number of the ‘traditional’ infrastructure groups have been reformed as part of a My Device Squad in the Digital Workplace (DW) Capability.

 

The My Device Squad objective is to provide modern, secure and cost effective End User infrastructure services within the Modern Digital Workplace. The Squad enables IT to reduce the time to business value through the use of specific workplace technology.

 

The Squad are involved in both the change and run of EBRD’s IT infrastructure. The Squad Lead maintains key relationships with EBRD IT infrastructure managed services providers, professional service partners, internal Service Delivery colleagues and IT portfolio leaders.

 

Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge

 

  • Extensive infrastructure management experience including managing teams, managed service providers and professional service organisations
  • Comfortable managing resourcing requirements (supply and demand)
  • A good grasp of infrastructure engineering principles, formerly from a technical background
  • Relevant, current experience of managing modern End User environments and cloud based platforms aligned with industry good practice. Ideally certified
  • Experience working in an ITIL governed environment, ideally certified
  • Familiarity of working with Agile software development teams, ensuring that infrastructure enhances velocity rather than introduces inertia
  • Experience of lifecycle management for large End User environment circa 3000+ Laptop Devices and Mobile Devices
  • Extensive experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 (desirable)
  • Upgrading to new feature versions and monthly patching and vulnerability management
  • Familiarity with Citrix and Azure DaaS VDI environments
  • Experience of Windows Process Automation using Powershell
  • A strong understanding of IT security, service continuity, audit, risk and compliance. Capable of aligning with suitable controls and monitoring effectiveness
  • Driven to ensure wherever possible technology is automated and appropriately quality assured with the aim of removing waste
  • A persuasive communicator who can engage across levels of seniority and technical capability
  • Must be comfortable with office productivity tools including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
